Task 2: Composition
In task 2, we need to create a world as background for our vormator character and this background need to incoreporating foreground, midground and background elements. But we can come out a new character without the vormator shapes, then put them into a pokemon card layout.

For me, I want to create a new character for my task 2 to more better blend into the background. Then I came up with my inspiration on a few reference pictures.

I create a Water Mimicry Humanoid and I named it Evaris for my Task 2, the story is about Evaris is patienly waiting for its eventual evaporation in the dawn.  It is born from the condensation of moist ambient air and stagnant water after rain. It knows that it will evaporate under the rising sun and its rays. It calmly accepts its fate and feels the breath of the world in a limited time.

The Setting:
The scene is set at dawn, the background should convey a deep, restful darkness, deep blue tones dominate the landscape. This adds to the emotional weight of the scene and represents the moments before evaporation.

Character:
Its body is watery, slightly translucent and shimmering, reflecting the colors of the environment. This creates a connection to the water element of the scene and visually connects it to the background. Evaris’s posture and expression communicate acceptance and curiosity, as though it’s absorbing the beauty of the world for the last time.

Light:
A beam of light (Tyndall Light ) falls on the character face, marking a key moment in the story. The character are fragile but is ready to embrace warmth and accept their fate of evaporation.

Then, I start working in Adobe Illustrator. This is the base color of my design.

For the shadow parts, I used the Pathfinder, Knife Tool, and Pen Tool to create the light and shadows. Some parts were difficult to create light and shadows using just the pathfinder, so I tried using the Knife Tool to cut out the shapes or use Pen Tool to create the shape that I wanted and apply the shadow color.

Figure 1.4,  Process 1
Then, I use Pen Tool to draw out a triangle and blurred it with the effect of radial blur (zoom in) to create the Tyndall light that I draw in my sketch.

Besides, I used different color to represnt the distance between the trees.
Figure 1.6, Process 3
Since Evaris was a Water Mimicry Humanoid, I wanted her to have the characteristics of water, so I used the Gradient Tool and a gradient from light blue at the bottom to light yellow at the top as Evaris' color. Also, I lowered its opacity to show the transparent effect of the water and I added the stars and birds in the sky to give it a more complete look.

Reflection
At first, this task felt pretty overwhelming. I’m used to drawing in Procreate, so switching to Adobe Illustrator was a big adjustment. In Procreate, I know exactly where to find all the tools, layer modes, and effects I need, but in Illustrator, everything felt scattered and unfamiliar. It took a lot more time and effort to hunt down options that I usually have right at my fingertips in Procreate. This shift definitely brought some unique challenges, and it pushed me out of my comfort zone as I navigated through Illustrator's different layout and features. However, I am glad that I had the opportunity to learn to use Adobe Illustrator and Sir gave me suggestions to improve my work. Overall, this task was fun and I'm happy with my outcome.
