What is Digital Imaging ?

Digital imaging converts the printed text, artwork, and photographs into digital images using a digital scanner or another imaging device.
Understanding Digital Imaging Techniques and Their Purposes:
  • Removing details ("retouching"): This technique is used to enhance the appearance by removing imperfections (like wrinkles or slimming down) or eliminating distracting or unwanted elements from the image.
  • Inserting details: This technique involves adding features or elements to an image, such as changing facial features or adding color to skin, to alter the overall tone or impact of the photograph.
  • Photomontage: This technique pairs or combines multiple images to suggest a relationship between them, or to create an entirely new image with a different or composite meaning.
  • False captioning: This involves altering the context of what an image portrays by adding misleading captions to distort the image's intended meaning.

  • Smart object for smart designers as they offer several key advantages that contribute to a successful design process.
  • Scaling artwork and proportion.
  • Use actions to personalize work to reduce the repetitive exercise of doing same thing over and over again.

Photoshop has established itself as a hub of creativity across various fields, including graphic design, web design, animation, photography, and digital magazine design. It is recognized as one of the most popular photo editing software programs. It's also a powerful tool for all type of user to expand their skills.

Exercise:
In this exercise, we need to find 3 graphic design works from Pinterest that we like and explain why we chose these design works. Additionally, we need to create a pinterest board and name it "DPI" as our reference source.

First graphic design work:
  • The reason that I chose this graphic design work was because it gave me a strong contrast between the color of the building, the words and the background. It catch my eyes ball and it let viewers can easily saw what the design express.

Second graphic design work:
  • This graphic design work shows the viewer two different lifestyle worlds, the bustling city above and the leisurely nature below. The work invites viewers to reflect on how these worlds intertwine, offering a visual meditation on the duality of modern life.

Third graphic design work:
  • The most striking thing about this poster is the central figure: a girl who seems to walk through the camera frame. Her gesture indicates that she is about to step from the two-dimensional world into reality, blurring the lines between the digital and physical realms.
