WEEK 7
Color TheoryColour theory is both the science and art of using color, explaining how humans perceive colors and the artistic and emotional messages they convey.
RGB v.s. CMYK- RGB is use to display on digital screen.- C= Cyan, M= magenta, Y= Yellow, B= Black, CMYK are the primary color for printing.
RGB: Additive color mixing model- Create by combining red, blue and green light sources at different intensities. ( TVs, Screen and Projector)
CMYK : Abstractive color mixing model- Create by the substraction of light used for printing.
Hue, shade, tint and tone- Hue is the fundamental term for color, indicating the specific color of an object.- Shade is created by adding black to a hue. (red+black = burgundy)- Tint is created by adding white to a hue. (red+white = pink)- Tone is a color that has had black and white (or gray) added to it.
Color HarmonyThe arrangement of colors in a design aims to be visually appealing and effective for user perception.- Monochromatic - Easy to work with and rarely result in unappealing combinations.

Monochromatic example
- Analoguos - 3 colors located right next to each other on the color wheel.

Analoguos example
- Complementary - Make imagery pop, but overusing them can get tiresome.

Complementary example
- Split-complementary - Use three colors and start with one base color, then find its complementary color, and use the two colors adjacent to that complement.

Split- complementary example
- Triadic - Using triadic color scheme creates visual contrast and harmony simultaneously.

Triadic example
The Psychology of ColorColors have a remarkable ability to evoke specific emotions in individuals while simultaneously drawing attention and creating harmony.
Warm and Cool color
- Warm colors often evoke feelings of happiness, optimism and energy. - Cool colors are usually calming and soothing but can also express sadness.
♜ Black is typically used sparingly, such as for text, but it also serves well as a primary color element, like in backgrounds. It conveys sophistication, elegance, and mystery, with a bold and confident presence.
♖ White as a primary color, white evokes a sense of cleanliness, purity, and health. It pairs well with almost any color, making it an excellent choice as a secondary color.
Tutorial and PracticalWe had exercises on double exposure, where we followed a provided tutorial to create a double exposure photo using reference images. Additionally, we were also required to create another double exposure photo using our own photo combined with an online background.
Part 1: Double Exposure follow Tutorial

Part 1, Step 1
- First, select the object (overlay) and edit it with the Refine Edge Brush Tool, then turn it in new layer with layer mask.

Part 1, Step 2
- Add a new layer with solid color under the potrait layer, besides add curves adjustment layer and make it in a "S" curve then create a clipping mask.

Part 1, Step 3
- Add forest image and place it on the lower part of head, apply clipping mask. Change the background with the color of the sky on the forest imgae.

Part 1, Step 4
- Used black color brush tool adjust the flow, then draw on the face to unmask it.

Part 1, Step 5
- Doublecate the forest images, flip vertical place it below and make a clippinf mask.

Part 1, Step 6
- Add the birds and cloud images change the layer mode to Darken/ Multiply.

Part 1, Step 7
- Last, add the gradient map fill layer to change the gradient map and experiment with the opacity.
Final Outcome for Part 1
Final Part 1
Part 2: My Own Double Exposure
For Part 2, I followed the same steps as in Part 1 using my photo and an additional image. The only differences were the photos and the gradient colors used.

Part 2, Step 1
Final Outcome for Part 2

Final Part 2
Reflection :
The task was quite enjoyable as we can play with different photos, experience with different positions and gradient color. We learned how to creating a harmonious compositions by using different photos. Overall, this task improved my technique skills in Photoshop and it taught my how to Photoshop tools to achieve specyfic effect. I had a lot of fun,
