Sir gave us to watch some video to help us to our character development.




PROCESS WORK

Alternative Outfit

Moodboard


For the outfit I was doing for Summer theme, so I want to design the outfit more casual and beach style. 


Sketches

I come out with 4 idea, from the left first one is a two-piece set. The upper part is neck vest style, and the lower part is a large piece of gauze wrapped around as the outer skirt with peacock pattern at the inside part. For the head part, i try to use cloth strips with talisman as a headband and the shoes is a normal sandals.

For the second idea, the inner part is a whole piece swimming suit skirt, and the outer scarf have a peacock pattern at the lower part. I place the cloth strips of talisman at the right leg as a decoration, she have a normal slippers also.

The third one, I design it with a big straw hat to enhance the feeling of beach style, and on the straw hat, i use a cloth strips with talisman tie as a ribbon for decoration. The skirts is design with one-piece mini dress with a short pants inside, i also put the cloth strips with talisman on the leg.

The last one is a off-shoulder tulle dress for outer, inner side was a whole piece swimming suite. I use normal sandals and cloth strips with talisman on her leg also.


Variation of Color with Final Alternative Outfit

For the final alternative outfit I choose the third one with a straw hat as my final design and I explored with the color to find out the most suitable color.


Finally, I choose this green-bluie color as my final decision.


Poses

Moodboard



For the moodboard I mostly take inspiration from mihoyo game which have Honkai Star rail, Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd.


Sketches

For the poses explored, I came out with 10 idea sketches for the poses, mosly is to simulate how the chaarcter use the element skills and burst.


Poses Exploration
For the poses exploration i came out 3 action poses.


This is the action pose for the character
element burst. The character will appear peacock tail patterns and her lower part hair will transform to peacock tail with the "eye" glowing. The action will be the character holding the weapon in one hand and the other hand was call out a talisman with a effect of "Stop all the enemies".



This is the hold skills, the action will be the character using her hand to write a talisman in the air, and below wil have water effect/ patterns appears while she is writing talisman.


This is the element skills, the action will like, the character sit on the air and holding a talisman and throw to the enemy to make them got some effect, or the character will use the talisman on herself to buff the whole team.


Expression

For the expression, since my character personality is more to calm and rational, so i trying to make the emotion more towards these style.

I firstly come out the 6 expression first, so based on the 6 expression I developed more.


Weapon

My idea for the weapon is a token or a jade perdant style, which the token serves as both her weapon and the medium through which she summons talismans.

Sketches


I trying to make my weapon can be wearable when it's not using. So, my idea is make the weapon into a deciration jade pendant and it can be place at the shoulder side or the waist side. It can also be a hair accessories.

The weapon design is using peacock as main idea, and the middle part is a moon shape design and a gem to collect the energy.


Details and Final Weapon


The color use main green, assistance with blue and yellow to connect with the peacock elements and the character color scheme.

REFLECTION

Overall, this task moves my character from the idea stage more towards the actual planning part. When I design all the accessories, weapons, expressions or poses, I feel like I'm fulfilling my character myself in the way that I want. I have a big sense of accomplishment when I finish all these. 

This task is not only for us to more completely develop our character design but also to make ourselves more knowledgeable about our character, so when we need to add extra things or edit/enhance the character, we know how to change the part since we built this character from "A to Z". I'm grateful to my lecturer and friends for their precious feedback and comments; it helped me a lot for my character design, and I hope I have the chance to use this character that I made in future projects.
