In this project we need to create an infographic style poster
based on one of the recipe in the YouTube channal
@pastagrannies. The requirements for the poster is 1240 x 1750 pixels or 2048
x 2048 pixels.
Chosen Recipe: Italian Cheesy Egg Dumplings
F1.0, Chosen Recipe
After watching a lot of video, I decided to choose this as my recipe
because it was interesting and fun to make. This Italian cheesy egg
dumpling is a traditional dish from Molise that uses the leftover pieces
of cheese. Besides, it stems from a time when meat was too expensive for
most people.

FINAL OUTCOME
|
|
|
After consulting with Sir Kannan, I made a space for the boarder and decided
to use this as the final outcome.
REFLECTION
Experience
For this project, we were required to create an instructable poster based
on a recipe from the YouTube channal @pastagrannies. After exploring several
videos, I chose the Italian Cheesy Egg Dumplings recipe because it felt
unique for me. Normally, dumplings are more oftenly seen in Chinese recipes,
so when I saw this Cheesy Egg Dumplings recipe it sound interesting for me.
Learning that this dish originated from Molise and it was traditionally made
using leftover cheese gave me a different cultural context.
Observation
During the design process, I noticed that the information will look more
nicely when keep a little distance from the edge. Because based on my previous
work, the text is touch the edge, so it feel a bit "tight". After consultation
with Mr. Kannan I change it and keep it some space and it looks more clean.
Separate the instructions for sauce and the dumplings also make viewers
understand better in my opinion, I separate the sauce and dumplings but I also
put the order number from step 1 to step 14 beside the label, so the viewers
will not confused.
Findings
Overall, I learned that information design is not just about putting as many
information as you can but more to communication and clarity. A well-designed
poster will guide the viewer step-by-step while maintaining visual appeal. I
also improved my skills in creating poster and more familiar with the steps
for create a poster. This projet enhanced my ability to translate complex
process, such as cooking instructions fit into a visually engaging and easy to
understand layput. I appreaciate all the feedback from my lecturer and my
friends.
